• On December 7, 2007, the new President and C.E.O of the Gerda Lissner Foundation, Mrs. Dolores Anne Fraidé presented the Foundation's first Holiday Musicale at the New York Athletic Club. The program included performances by former winners of the International Vocal Competition Madeline Bender, Elisabeth Caballero, Jennifer Check, Michael Choldi, Ellie Dehn, Marc Heller, Lisette Oropesa, Manon Strauss Evrard, Paul Whelan. The concert was hosted by a very special personality of music and Opera, Miss Jane Powell, who received the first Gerda Lissner Lifetime Achievement award for her accomplishments in the arts. There was also a very special performance by star of radio, television and film, Kay Armen. The catered dinner was accompanied by a Christmas carol sing-along, and a good time was had by all!

• After reviewing over 300 submissions, the board of the Gerda Lissner Foundation has selected 75 finalists from across the US and the world, who will compete in our International Vocal Competition on March 3, 4, 5 and 6th, 2008. The winners were awarded grants ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 to help support their careers.
